"I am not the type of player who scores lots of goals but the right moment arrived tonight"

ROME - Scoring a goal worth so much, coming on top of a performance that was full of heart, grit and determination. MatiasVecino scored the winning goal during Sunday’s Serie A fixture against Lazio; one that secured the Nerazzurri’s spot back in the Champions League: “I am not the type of player who scores lots of goals,” said the midfielder after the match, who also pointed out a strike scored against Rome earlier on this season at the Stadio Olimpico. “However, the right moment arrived tonight. It is the most important goal of my career. Playing in Rome obviously suits me well.”

“We really wanted to qualify for the Champions League,” the Uruguayan midfielder concluded. “It was our main objective and we’re pleased to have achieved this. I’ve recently been struggling with a groin injury and haven’t been able to contribute fully to the team. I’m pleased to have done so tonight.”
