The Coach after the win: "We were patient, it wasn't easy. We'll need more quality but when space opened up, we scored three wonderful goals"

BOLOGNA - "After the goal, the team played with more freedom, we found more space and scored three wonderful goals," said Luciano Spalletti after Bologna 0-3 Inter as the Nerazzurri claimed three points for the first time this season.

Three goals in the second half (Nainggolan, Candreva and Perisic) after a cagey opening 45 minutes when Filippo Inzaghi’s side sat deep. "We played well, we looked to stay balanced and not take the risk of losing shape for their counterattacks," explained the Coach. "It wasn’t easy to find space because Bologna were organised all match. We were patient because there was a risk of starting to panic. We only needed a little more quality when playing in the final third."

"We have a good group but you need to win games," he added. "Against teams like that, we need to manage the ball better and create numerical superiority up the pitch, also while looking to play off the shoulders of their defenders. We still have some players who aren’t in peak condition, we’ll have to get up to that quickly because you really need to sweat to win games."

Finally, there was a comment on the attack without the captain Mauro Icardi. "Lautaro had a tight muscle yesterday and there was a risk it could hurt him, Without Mauro, we used Keita as a solution as the centre-forward because he can play in that position even if he has different characteristics."
