The Belgian midfielder to Sky Sport today: "There are plenty of expectations on us but we've demonstrated that we are strong side"

MILAN - Following Tuesday’s win over Fiorentina, Radja Nainggolan today released an interview with Sky Sport, discussing his first few months as a Nerazzurri player: “I am giving my all during this new adventure. Obviously, I still have to improve considering I missed out on preparations and I will show that little bit extra to reach the top. However, I am not worried. I felt at ease here at Inter straight away. I was welcomed into the club with open arms. I am happy to be here and I hope it’s a successful period. Our main aim this year is to improve on last season. We didn’t start in the best manner, but our last two wins have put us back on track. We hope to now continue like this. The road is long, but we’ve won two important games and we must keep moving forward in the same fashion. There are plenty of expectations on us but we’ve demonstrated that we can win tough matches. We are a strong side.”

On a personal level, the Ninja is still motivated and determined as ever: “I want to win trophies, that is obvious. I’ve always given my all out on the pitch but it’s now the right time to win something. However, we’ll keep our heads down. It’s better to say nothing and then see where we are at the end of the season. My bow against Bologna? It just came out in the moment. I wanted to present myself to the fans considering that I had missed the first two games. I am always happy when I score, but the important thing is that the team keep winning. Being a symbol of this Inter team? I think about playing and doing well out on the pitch – that is what interests me most. I have found a lot of enthusiasm here in Milan - particularly due to being back in the Champions League. It’s amazing to play at a packed San Siro. We’ll give our all to win every match and we all hope to secure results together as a team.”

The Belgian has also met back up with Luciano Spalletti at Inter, having previously worked with him at Roma: “I work very well with him and we’ve picked up some important results together. I hope to enjoy much more here at Inter. He really wanted to bring me here and I am pleased to have joined the club. I am now focused on giving my all. Totti? To play with someone like him was one of the greatest moments of my career. We have a great relationship and I am always in contact with him.”
