The Nerazzurri Coach ahead of Inter vs. Cagliari: "We're now in the position to see who is in front of us but we need to keep winning"

APPIANOGENTILE - The team is in action again tomorrow at 20:30 CEST against Cagliari. There’s no time off at the moment for the Nerazzurri and Luciano Spalletti was in for his pre-match press conference at the Suning Training Centre this afternoon.

"Now, we’re in a position to look at who is in front of us but we need to keep to keep winning to stay on the right path. Inter and I above all are focused on our work," he began.

"Everything happens through results and enthusiasm and getting all of the players up to peak condition. That’s not just the 11 or 14 who take to the pitch but all of those that we have. All these matches are also tiring mentally and it becomes difficult to fully recover.

"Lautaro can be the focal point in attack and he can link up with his teammates. In terms of his character, he’s strong and tough, we need to keep him that way and we’re looking to protect him as much as possible.

"Some of my friends from Florence made some jokes after the last game! However, the handball can’t be in question even if I’m still reading about doubts in the press. I still have a good relationship with them because I have childhood friends who are Fiorentina fans.

"Nainggolan is doing alright but with his potential, he needs to get up to peak condition which he hasn’t been able to do so far, also because of the injury. He is someone who can bring life to a match every two to three minutes

"Vrsaljko might not recover before the international break. He can start dynamic training, at the moment he’s working in the gym. However, we need to evaluate him and bring him back up to match fitness.

"We need to show that we’re a team who deserve to be at the heart of fan’s thoughts."
