The Nerazzurri tactician after Inter vs. Atalanta: "They were stronger than us. We've got to accept this result but where we're heading is clear"

BERGAMO – "We fell back into bad habits today and failed to keep our concentration levels high, with our carelessness giving them space to exploit. When you come up against a determined and ruthless team, everything becomes more difficult,” said Luciano Spalletti after Inter’s defeat away to Atalanta in the lunchtime kick-off on Serie A matchday 12.

"In terms of individuals and decisions made, we lost too many duels, and their attitude was excellent throughout the game. After we levelled, both teams could have gone on to win the game. At that point we were playing better tactically but once again we were careless in our play and they proved to be stronger than us as they exploited two dead ball situations.

"We have to accept this result. It’s a game we’ll try to learn from in terms of the mistakes we made so that something like this doesn’t happen again. The international break doesn’t change anything because it’s clear where we’re heading and I’m not worried about anything. I don’t like losing but we have time to digest this defeat and start again from a point which is in line with our expectations. In moments like this we have to remain quiet and put all our energy into playing well on the pitch."
