MILAN - Joining from Bayern Munich in 1988 alongside club and country compatriot Lothar Matthaus, he went on to spend four seasons with the Nerazzurri and played a key role in helping Inter secure silverware.
He scored 12 goals in 154 appearances, duly helping Inter pick up one Scudetto, one UEFA Cup and one Supercoppa Italiana title.
