"When I got the call, I didn't think for a second. Barcelona also wanted me but I opted for the Nerazzurri and it all went brilliantly"

MILAN - Always committed to the Nerazzurri, everything Francesco Toldo does shows his love for Inter. That can be seen when he’s at the club offices, organising activities for Inter Forever. It can also be seen when he moves around town as he’s approached by supporters. "Grande Francesco!" they say as he responds somewhat timidly to all. This is what Toldo shows, determination, passion and the desire to bring people together and share experiences. Forever.

Let’s take a look back in time to 2001 when the call first came from Inter. "My first thought was ‘I’ll go and fight for my place!’. Barcelona wanted me at the time but I made my decision. Inter was a team full of great players and I presented myself to the stars with great enthusiasm and desire, giving all that I could. At Appiano, during matches and with my teammates. It all went brilliantly."

‘Once an Interista, always an Interista’ is a special phrase for Toldo. "We coined it at Inter Forever. It’s more than just a slogan, it’s a way to continue with our story. To develop traditions and a connection. Our values and history are a precious legacy. We have worn these colours and we must transmit these values to all, especially the youngest."
