Handanovic: "A very important win"

MILAN – Slovenian goalkeeper Samir Handanovic had this to say after Inter defeated Sampdoria 2-1 at San Siro: "It was vital to get the three points and we fought from the first until the last minute to get the win. In the end, we’ve managed to get a very important victory. Today, we had to play an excellent side that pass the ball very well. Furthermore, they were extremely determined because this game came at a difficult time for them. Fighting hard forms the basis of everything. Today, I’m happy with the result and how we played. I’m also pleased for the boys. We wanted to get the win at all costs, and results in the afternoon also spurred us on. The right path? I think it’s the path we took today: we demonstrated that we’re a true team that knows how to fight out on the pitch."
