Handanovic: "We won thanks to our desire and character"

MILAN - SamirHandanovic looked back on tonight’s big win in the #DerbyMilano: "We believed in ourselves. We’ve had a lot of games, it was an emergency situation on Thursday, it was an ugly defeat but we had to get over it and prepare for the derby which came at the right time. We deserved to win, we’re all happy and now we can rest a bit. Desire and character came to the fore, not everyone can play in games like that. We won in both meetings this year, we’ve shown that we’re better. Lautaro’s penalty? At times I watch, at times I don’t. I didn’t want to watch today and it turned out well. There will be lots of direct match-ups now at home, San Siro gives us a boost and energy when we play here, the win today was the right result at the right time."
