Gabriele Bonacina's side defeated Milan 2-0 and are now mathematically certain to finish the regular season on top

MILAN - The #DerbyMilano once again belongs to the Nerazzurri. After the win for the Primavera yesterday, Gabriele Bonacina’s side also came out on top against Milan (2-0), thereby guaranteeing themselves a first-place finish come the end of the regular season with two games to spare. This was a fantastic result for our U-16s as they await the final phase of the league season.

At the Suning Youth Development Centre, the two sides in first and second place in the league faced each other. Both teams looked to figure each other out in the opening stages, with an emphasis being placed primarily on defence. Around the half-hour mark, both teams had great chances as an outrushing Gerardi denied Milan before Gnonto went close the other end following great individual work.

Inter began the second half in excellent fashion and went ahead in the 51st minute as Benedetti beat Cella with a perfect header. The Nerazzurri didn’t sit back and went on to double their lead after 63 minutes through Cepele, who forced the ball home after a scramble in the Milan box. In the final stages, Gnonto hit the post as the Nerazzurri came close to a third.

2-0 is how it remained: Inter have now mathematically won their league with two matches to spare.
