The Slovakian defender spoke after extending his contract until 30 June 2023: "I personally renewed my contract with Inter, we want to win on Sunday"

MILAN – On the day he extended his Inter contract, Milan Skriniar spoke of his emotions to Sky and Inter TV: "It’s a great milestone for me, I’m very happy to have extended my contract with Inter and I’m proud that I’ll be able to wear this shirt in the future. I want to thank the Club and the fans for the confidence that they’ve always shown in me. I personally renewed my contract with Inter. In football, sometimes things go fast and sometimes they go a bit slower. I did well in my first few games and the fans, the Coach and the Club showed confidence in me straight away. I then began to play all the time. This season isn’t over yet and we need to reach our objective."

He then talked about the Nerazzurri’s next league fixture at the Stadio San Paolo: "Easy games don’t exist in Serie A. It’s always a great game against Napoli, an open game. We want to win on Sunday, then we can feel a sense of calm. However, we need to get the three points. We must go there, give everything and emerge victorious."

As regards the team's future objectives: "We want to improve in terms of quality. This season, we’re one win away from qualifying for the Champions League, something which is very important for us. We need to do this first, and then from next season we have to put our foot fully on the accelerator immediately and try to finish as high up as possible."

Finally, he spoke about his personal objectives: "De Vrij has scored two goals. Unfortunately, I haven’t managed to find the back of the net yet. I’m waiting to score, but there are two games remaining. I can therefore still do it."
