MILAN – Yesterday in the heart of Milan, the official presentation of Inter’s new third kit took place at the Nike Store on Corso Vittorio Emanuele. ‘Race to Glory’ is the phrase that is being used in conjunction with the new kit, which contains elements from the two iconic shirts that Inter wore in the 1997-98 and 2009-10 seasons – two campaigns where the Nerazzurri achieved some of the most spectacular successes in their history. In addition to these references to the past, the new shirt boasts nods to the 1990s ‘jersey culture’ and Inter’s long partnership with Pirelli, which dates back to 1995.

A huge number of fans were in attendance to welcome the Nerazzurri players. Vice President Javier Zanetti, Coach Antonio Conte and his staff and Gabriele Oriali. Javier Zanetti greeted the supporters from the stage: “All Inter shirts are fantastic and special. This one combines two kits which evoke wonderful memories and unforgettable moments. But now we have to work for the present and especially for the future. All the prerequisites are there to do well. I’m a son of Inter, I came here when I was barely more than a child and will never stop thanking Inter’s fans.” Finally, he spoke about Pirelli: “It’s a strong link, Pirelli is part of our family.”

Captain Samir Handanovic also wanted to thank the fans for their support: “We always feel your affection and we count on you. We want to thank you once more because you gave us the decisive push that we needed in the final game last season to qualify for the Champions League.”
