The Nerazzurri midfielder was one of the key players in Inter's win over Borussia Dortmund: "My goal put the game to bed but we deserved to make it 2-0 prior to this"

MILAN - Antonio Candreva put in another big performance and scored the Nerazzurri’s second as Inter ran out 2-0 winners against Borussia Dortmund on matchday three of the UEFA Champions League. After the game, the Italian had the following to say: “We produced a great performance, my goal at the end killed off the match and perhaps we deserved to do this slightly earlier. But the important thing was to win.

“The journey we’re on is a long one, there are many games to play. We’ve got an excellent Coach and things are becoming easier. Conte can give us a lot, we’re happy to have him with us. We dug in when we needed to and kept the ball when we needed to slow things down.

“Despite losing twice, our performances against Barcelona and Juventus were excellent and made us aware that we can do well. We reviewed the things we got wrong and acquired important insight.”

The wideman then talked about Esposito’s debut at the age of just 17 years and 113 days: “We know all about Sebastiano, he’s been performing well right from the start of pre-season. He works hard, listens and is humble. He’s got a long way to go, and we therefore need to help him in such a way that he carries on working the way he is currently.”
