It was a record-breaking night for the Italian National Team and Biraghi, who also started for the Azzurri. Godin and Vecino’s Uruguay drew with Lautaro’s Argentina

MILAN - Nicolò Barella played a key role in a record-breaking match for the Azzurri. The Inter midfielder scored Mancini’s side’s third goal in their 9-1 victory over Armenia at the Stadio Renzo Barbera.  Barella started for Italy, who had already qualified for the 2020 European Championships, and he grabbed himself a goal during the 45 minutes he spent on the pitch. Barella made his twelfth appearance and scored his third goal for the Azzurri, with all of those coming in competitive matches.

Cristiano Biraghi was another Nerazzurri player who featured for Italy and helped them to a comfortable victory. A record-breaking result for Italy; it was their eleventh consecutive victory, their tenth win out of ten in qualifying matches, a victory to complete the 2019 calendar year with a 100% win-rate and the first time they had scored at least 8 goals in a match since the 1952 Olympics.

Three other Nerazzurri were in action that evening as Argentina played Uruguay in a prestigious friendly at the Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv. Diego Godin and Matias Vecino both played the full 90 minutes for La Celeste while Lautaro Martinez came on for Argentina in the 76th minute. The final result was a 2-2 draw thanks to goals from Cavani, Aguero, Suarez and a penalty from Messi.
