MILAN – Lucien Agoumé has captained the French Under-17s to a third-place finish at the World Cup.

The Nerazzurri midfielder didn’t feature in France’s semi-final defeat to Brazil due to suspension. In the third-place playoff match in Gama, the French National Team came from behind to beat the Netherlands 3-1, with Agoumé remaining on the pitch throughout.

The 17-year-old midfielder finished the tournament with one goal, which he scored from the penalty spot in France’s opening game against Chile. He played six matches in total, all of which he started.

The winners of the Under-17 World Cup were Brazil, who beat Mexico 2-1 in the final.
