Analysis after the 3-0 win at Torino: "I'm happy above all for the guys, they're seeing the benefits of their work"

TURIN - Antonio Conte’s Inter claimed an important league win and it kept up the perfect away record so it’s now seven from seven away from the Meazza in Serie A. That’s the first time it’s happened in Inter history and the 3-0 win over Torino was secured thanks to Lautaro Martinez, Stefan de Vrij and Romelu Lukaku goals.

“I’m happy above all for the guys who are getting big results but the thing that makes me happiest is that we didn’t concede today,” said the Coach. “We showed good defensive solidity and this is vital because we’ll score goals sooner or latter. Now, we’ll keep working as a team while looking to give more than our best because unfortunately, this emergency situation is continuing.”

“I need to thank these guys who are seeing the benefits for the sacrifices they’ve made and the time spent on the pitch and in the video analysis room. I’m happy to highlight the professionalism and determination of Borja Valero who had a great second half. It’s what makes me happiest. He waited in silence for his moment and was then ready for it and the same goes for Dimarco who could make his first appearance of the season. It’s a pleasure to coach guys like these, they’re all willing to listen and they want to do something extraordinary. Barella’s condition? I hope it’s nothing serious because he’s developed exponentially and he’s an important player for us. He’s a warrior and I hope he’s back on the pitch soon.”

There was also a comment on the front two who keep scoring: “Lautaro and Romelu are improving a lot and they still have margins to develop even further. They’re two young guys at 22 and 26. They could be Inter forwards for another ten years. I’m happy because they did a lot of work for the team away from their goals.”

Finally, focus turned quickly to the Champions League match against Slavia Prague. “We know that we can only get one result. I don’t know how it will go but I know that the guys will give everything and we’ll not leave with any regrets.”
