de Vrij: "We always know what to do on the pitch, we were excellent"

TURIN – He’s provided three assists so far this season and now he’s got his first goal of the 2019/20 Serie A campaign. After netting against Torino last year, he did so again against the same opponents tonight. In doing so, he’s become the eleventh Inter player to get on the scoresheet this season. The Dutch defender spoke to Inter TV after the match: “Usually, I try to stop our opponents from scoring, but it’s a fantastic feeling when I score. We take to the pitch prepared, we always know what we need to do and how to hurt our opponents. Against Torino, we were able to make the most of our chances, we scored immediately and never had to dig in. We created opportunities and played good football without ever having any problems.”

It was a match that was made difficult by the pitch’s condition: “We noticed that it was a heavy pitch when we were warming up. It would have been difficult to build from the back, we did well to interpret the match and play the game in the best possible fashion.”
