The words of Armando Madonna, Jacopo Gianelli and Gaetano Pio Oristanio following the Nerazzurri’s qualification for the round of 16

SESTO SAN GIOVANNI - Armando Madonna’s U19s triumphed 2-0 over Barcelona, securing their place in the round of 16 of the competition. Armando Madonna, Jacopo Gianelli and Gaetano Pio Oristanio all spoke to the media after the game:

Inter’s Coach said: “It was a difficult game, the boys were a bit nervous at the start. They’re great on the ball: they really stopped us from playing, especially in the first half. We need to improve in this respect, because we could have made them work harder. Things went better in the second half: they dropped off in terms of aggression and we managed to keep the ball better. Qualifying for the round of 16 is really useful for the boys, we need these games to gain experience and improve. We felt this challenge a bit, but we have to get used to it. We’ve achieved our first goal of the season, qualifying for the round of 16 in top spot. It’s a great result, we have to continue along this path and do well in both the league and the Coppa Italia.”

Jacopo Gianelli: “It’s a great win, we made the most of all of our strengths to get the three points. We need games like these in order to learn, we need to keep going and keep working hard. Now heads on the league and Coppa Italia to show even more proof that we’re a strong side.”

Gaetano Pio Oristanio: “It was a great test as a group. The goal helped us at a difficult point in the match, but our strength was our consistency and patience. We’ve got a lot of games in this last month, we’re playing every three days and we need to be able to manage our energy levels. There’s a different intensity in Europe, the teams have a different style of play. We’re really happy to have qualified.”
