Exactly 43 years ago on 12 December 1976, Giacinto Facchetti scored his last league goal, the 74th of his 75 Nerazzurri goals. Some remain unforgettable, like the powerful strike in the European Cup semi-final comeback against Liverpool that set up the final against Benfica. 

A top-class player and an innovator. Those who saw him in action live and those who’ve seen his highlights have seen a player who combined elegance, strength, class and modernity. ‘Il Cipe’ was much much more though. As a person, he was an example of integrity, loyalty and transparency all of which were accompanied by a strong sense of belonging. First as a player, then as a director and finally as president. Therefore, it’s only right for one of his most iconic phrases to sum up a limitless passion.
