There must be something in the air in Bahia Blanca, in the south of the Argentine Pampas. The sportspeople who emerge there have a different look in their eyes, they’re quick in their thinking and actions, ferocious competitors and have class in abundance. Think about the NBA star, Manu Ginobli. Or Rodrigo Palacio, who the Nerazzurri fans quickly fell in love with. Now in Nerazzurro, there’s Lautaro Martinez from Bahia Blanca. In his second season as an Inter player, he’s been in extraordinary form with how he’s been starting games. He’s scored a sackful of goals in the opening minutes of matches, constantly seeking out the back of the net combined with an innate ability to work for the good of the team. Self-sacrifice, communication with teammates and flashes of brilliance. Lautaro was born in 1997 and joined the Nerazzurri after coming through at Racing Club de Avellaneda. 

Only a few days ago, he described his pride at representing the Nerazzurri. “Inter is my home. For me, it’s something very important and the fans are always very kind with me. I think it’s amazing. I try to work and show what I can do with humility on the pitch, to show that I’m worthy of this shirt. I want to make the Nerazzurri fans and my family as happy as possible.”
