An injury-time equaliser from Manzari prevented the Nerazzurri from securing all three points on Saturday

MILAN - The Nerazurri were denied all three points following a 91st-minute equaliser at the Suning Youth Development Centre on Saturday, with Manzari cancelling out Schirò’s second-half opener.

There was little to report during a drab first half, with neither side enjoying many chances and the match being played mostly in midfield. The first real chance came in injury time, with Fonseca just missing the target with a header.

However, the Nerazzurri came out fighting after the interval, with Mulattieri first forcing Vitale into action before Fonseca had a pop that was dealt with by the Neroverdi defence. Sassuolo then had their own chance through Oddei, with Stankovic just preventing the striker from breaking the deadlock. It was then in the 67th minute that the home side scored the opener - Thomas Schirò the man firing home with a left-footed strike. 11 minutes later Inter then went incredibly close to grabbing a second but struck the crossbar. It was then heartbreak for Inter-U19’s right at the death, as a strike from Manzari deflected in off Cortinovis. The final whistle went soon after, with the match ending as a draw.
