Biraghi: "The atmosphere is spot on, both at Inter and with the Azzurri"

APPIANO GENTILE - Having just returned from international duty with Roberto Mancini’s Italy, Cristiano Biraghi spoke about his time in the Nerazzurri shirt and his positive experience with the Azzurri: “We’re happy to have broken a record and above all to have secured qualification for EURO 2020 with three games to spare. Mancini has created a great group, exactly the one which we needed at this point in time to rediscover the real value of the National Team. We’re an excellent team, a lot of us have played together in the Under-21s and the atmosphere is spot on.”

He spoke just as highly of Appiano Gentile: “Conte has been superb at bringing his winning mentality into the group. We follow him in everything because we want to get back to winning things. We’re training well, even those who haven’t played as much are giving their all to make sure they’re ready. That’s important because in order to win we’ll need everyone we have.”

Finally, a word on his return to the Nerazzurri and Inter’s upcoming fixtures: “I had always hoped to come back here, the chance came around and I’m very happy with how it’s all worked out. I want to do well and make my contribution. We have seven games in the next 21 days, but we have to focus on one game at a time. We know the difficulties that the game against Sassuolo will bring. We’ll work together with the Coach on looking at what didn’t go as well in the last two games and we’ll do everything possible to get back to winning ways.”
