The facts and figures from the Nerazzurri's 2-1 victory

MILAN – A deserved but hard-fought win: Inter ran out 2-1 winners against Verona thanks to Vecino and Barella goals. In collaboration with Opta, here are all the relevant statistics from the match.

  • Inter have scored in all of their first twelve matches in a single Serie A campaign for only the second time in their history following on from the 1997/98 season (under Luigi Simoni).

  • Inter sit on 31 points after the first twelve matchdays of the current Serie A season: this is a record for the Nerazzurri in the three-points-for-a-win era.

  • Inter are unbeaten in their 29 home games in the top flight against Verona (W18 D11). This represents a joint record for Nerazzurri, who have also remained unbeaten against Palermo at home for this many games.

  • Inter attempted 38 shots against Verona: since Opta started collecting this kind of data (2004/05), they have only had more attempts on two occasions (40 against Chievo in 2007 and 39 against Sampdoria in 2005).

  • Inter attempted 17 shots during the first half: a joint record in the first 45 minutes of play this season when the Top Five European Leagues are taken into account.

  • Nicolò Barella scored his first goal from outside the box from open play in Serie A. It was his eighth goal in the competition (and first with the Nerazzurri).

  • Matias Vecino, who bagged a home goal in Serie A for the first time since January 2018, has scored three of his seven goals with Inter in the top flight with his head.

  • Valentino Lazaro has provided twelve assists in the Top Five European Leagues: 50% of them have been scored with a header.

  • Inter have conceded in 5+ games in a row in all competitions for the first time since February 2018 (six matches in this case).

  • Inter conceded their first goal from a penalty in Serie A since February, when Veretout scored for Fiorentina after 100 minutes and seven seconds.

  • Stefan de Vrij made his 50th appearance with Inter in all competitions yesterday evening.
