A stalemate at the Stadio Breda as Mulattieri and Schirò’s goals weren’t quite enough for the three points

SESTO SAN GIOVANNI - Armando Madonna’s Inter couldn’t quite get the start they were hoping for on the first matchday of the return fixtures in the Primavera 1 TIM division as they were held to a 2-2 draw with Pescara. The away side initially took the lead through Pavone before a strong Inter response with goals from Mulattieri and Schirò. The match was changed after a second yellow for Kinkoue in minute 66, the away side making the most of their man advantage and eventually finding an equaliser through Diambo’s header.

The Nerazzurri found themselves on the back foot right away, Pavone netting a sublime finish in the 7th minute to beat Stankovic and put his side ahead. However, Inter did anything but lie down, Mulattieri finding the net at the third attempt after Vezzoni’s good work to win the ball back in the opposition half. Armando Madonna’s boys kept on pushing but couldn’t quite find another as they went in at the break with the scores tied at 1-1.

Inter started right where they had left off, dominating the opening minutes of the second half. Gianelli’s longshot was just about kept out by Sorrentino in the 60th minute, but it was only two minutes later that Inter completed the comeback: some great exchange play between Mulattieri and Schirò before our captain slotted home to make it 2-1. However, the lead wasn’t to last and Kinkoue’s red card for a second bookable offence in the 66th minute meant that Inter were down to ten. This moment injected real hope into the Pescara side, who pushed on in search of an equaliser. Despite great interventions from Pirola and Stankovic, it wasn’t to be and Diambo headed home after a corner in minute 78 to make the final result 2-2 at full-time.
