Armando Madonna's U19 side come from behind to beat the Viola thanks to two second-half goals from Persyn and Mulattieri

FLORENCE – Inter’s Under-19s emerged victorious at the Stadio Gino Bozzi today on matchday 17 of the Primavera 1 TIM season. After initially falling behind, the Nerazzurri produced a fantastic second-half performance to beat Fiorentina 2-1 thanks to goals from Persyn and Mulattieri. These were three very important points ahead of the team’s next league fixture, which will see Inter play Napoli on Saturday 8 February at the Stadio Breda.

The Nerazzurri started the game poorly and fell behind with ten minutes on the clock: Spalluto escaped down the right and picked out Koffi in the box, who subsequently fired past Pozzer. Inter then initially struggled to respond, but the team’s performance started to improve as the half went on, helped also by Gnonto’s introduction. After 40 minutes, Brancolini did well to put Persyn’s right-footed effort behind for a corner. Inter were now looking dangerous, but the team weren’t able to score before the break.

After the restart, Fonseca had an early goal ruled out for offside after great work by Gnonto down the right flank. The No.20 also threatened a few minutes later, but no Nerazzurri player was able to get on the end of his cross. In the 65th minute, Mulattieri was unable to find the net from close range. However, the Nerazzurri grabbed a deserved equaliser in the 66th minute: a cross came in from the left and Persyn managed to adjust his body to score with the inside of his left foot. With 80 minutes on the clock, Inter completed their comeback: Gnonto crossed it in, Moretti laid it off and Milattieri supplied the finish. With the match coming to an end, Gnonto was unable to make it three on the break, but Madonna’s side held on to come away with three very important points.
