Armando Madonna's Primavera side beat Sampdoria in their season opener, with Esposito, Squizzato and Oristanio on the scoresheet

SESTO SAN GIOVANNI – Armando Madonna's U19 have started their Primavera 1 TIM campaign with a 3-0 win over Sampdoria, with Esposito, Squizzato and Oristanio on the scoresheet. It was a strong opening performance for the Nerazzurri, who set the tempo throughout the match and made the most of their chances.

Inter were in control right from the off, with Oristanio coming close to opening the scoring in the 14th minute, but his left-footed effort was met with a spectacular save from Avogadri. Ten minutes down the line, Inter finally found the breakthrough: the Sampdoria defence may have been able to clear their lines after a cross from Satriano, but the ball fell to Esposito, who fired home an emphatic opener with his right. Later in the first half, the hosts twice came close to levelling the scoring, but Stankovic was there to thwart them on both occasions.

The match grew increasingly competitive in the second half, and in the 73rd minute, there were more heroics from Stankovic, who turned a dangerous header from Yayi over the bar to maintain the Nerazzurri lead. After surviving a period of pressure from Sampdoria, Madonna’s side doubled their lead, with Esposito picking out Squizzato, who struck the ball home sweetly to make it 2-0 to the Nerazzurri. And with two minutes to go, Oristanio put the icing on the cake, finding the bottom corner with a perfectly-placed left-footed strike.

With their comfortable 3-0 victory over Sampdoria, Armando Madonna’s U19 side have started their Primavera 1 TIM campaign in style, and the win stands them in good stead for their next match against SPAL on Saturday 26 September.
