Facts, figures and stats ahead of the game at San Siro

MILAN – On Saturday at 18:00 CET, Antonio Conte’s Inter return to San Siro after a win in Genoa and the away trip to Kyiv to face Shakhtar Donetsk in midweek. Ahead of the matchday 6 fixture in Serie A, let’s take a look at all of the facts and figures.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Saturday’s game will be the 53rd meeting between the two sides in the top flight of Italian football. The current head-to-head record in Serie A reads 21 wins for the Nerazzurri, 15 draws and 16 wins for the Gialloblù.

Inter’s last win in this fixture was in the second half of last season. Two goals from defenders, de Vrij and Bastoni, secured the win for the Nerazzurri. Furthermore, Inter have kept a clean sheet in each of their last four victories over Parma.

After a run of seven consecutive home wins between November 2005 and April 2013 in Serie A against Parma, Inter have not won in any over the four games at San Siro against the Gialloblù (3D, 1L). This is the Nerazzurri’s longest ever winless streak at home against the Ducali in the league.

THE MATCH

Antonio Conte’s side go into this game with 10 points in the game and record of three wins, one draw and one defeat. Last time out in the league, the Nerazzurri took all three points from their game against Genoa thanks to goals from Romelu Lukaku and Danilo D’Ambrosio.

For Fabio Liverani’s Parma side, the table reads four points from five games in the league after three defeats, one win and one draw - which came last time out at home to Spezia. The Gialloblù have conceded eleven goals and scored six.

FORMER PLAYERS

Among the former players on either side in this game, we have Alessandro Bastoni, who played 24 times in Serie A for Parma and scored one goal (against Sampdoria). The Inter defender scored the winner in the 2-1 win at the Tardini in the last meeting between the two sides. From the away side’s perspective, French forward Yann Karamoh played in his team’s last trip to San Siro. Karamoh recently scored a brace in Parma’s Coppa Italia win against Pescara.

COACHES

Antonio Conte is unbeaten as a coach against Parma in Serie A (6W, 3D). The two coaches have faced off twice at the helm in the league, with the Nerazzurri coach winning one and drawing the other.
