The captain on the Champions League win against Borussia Mönchengladbach

MÖNCHENGLADBACH - “There’s no love without pain,” Borussia vs. Inter was a tough and hard-fought match, but the result was sweet in the end. SamirHandanovic looked back on it after the final whistle with Inter TV: “It was a tough match with some unique weather conditions. We had to suffer at points but there’s no love without pain. The important thing is to always be a team. And to win, this matters too.

“We created a lot and could have finished the match off. We then made things a bit hard for ourselves, but the performance was there. Their disallowed goal? I don’t know if it was fate, but I couldn't see the ball at the moment when Pléa shot. The referee made the correct decision.

“Before focusing on the Shakhtar game, we need to think about Bologna on Saturday. One step at a time.”
