Lukaku makes it into Opta's starting XI for the calendar year

MILAN – Romelu Lukaku has made it into Opta’s Serie A team of the year for 2020. It’s a Top-11 based on stats: in 2020, Lukaku played a total of 32 fixtures in the Italian top flight, scoring 22. Eleven of these goals were scored in 19 appearances during the 2019/20 season, while the rest have come across 13 matches since the current campaign began.

• Only Cristiano Ronaldo and Ciro Immobile (17 for both) scored more Serie A goals than Romelu Lukaku (16) from open play in 2020.

• Out of the players who attempted fewer than 100 shots in Serie A in 2020, Romelu Lukaku is the man who scored the most goals (22).

• Out of those who found the net at least 20 times in Serie A in 2020, Lukaku is the player with the best conversion rate (27%).
