The Nerazzurri captain speaking after Wednesday's draw in the Champions League

MILAN - Inter’s European adventure ended following a 0-0 draw with Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday, as the Nerazzurri finished fourth in Group B. Captain Samir Handanovic spoke to Sky Sport after the match, giving his verdict on the result: “We missed out on qualification more in Kyiv than here today. It was a balanced group but we could have done better. The pitch never lies and this is the outcome. We tried, in every way, but we couldn’t get the goal. Shakhtar were pleased with the draw, but we thought they wanted more.

“There is no time to sit and mope. We have to focus on the league and the Coppa Italia. We’re up against Cagliari on Sunday and we must now turn our attention to that.”
