Ernesto Pellegrini: an Interista for 80 years

Ernesto Pellegrini turns 80 years old today.

A Milan native, an entrepreneur, an Interista and a man with a big heart. After purchasing Inter from Ivanoe Fraizzoli in 1984, Pellegrini became the Nerazzurri’s 17th President.

He would remain at the Club for eleven years, with Massimo Moratti taking over in 1995. These were eleven years full of adventures and wonderful players, like Rummenigge, Matthäus, Brehme and Klinsmann. But that’s not all.

Particularly memorable was the Nerazzurri’s 13th Scudetto triumph in 1989, with Giovanni Trapattoni leading Inter on a record-breaking journey. But there were also the two UEFA Cup trophies in 1991 and 1994 in addition to a Supercoppa Italiana success.

On this special day, Inter would like to pass on their best birthday wishes to Ernesto Pellegrini, now an Interista for 80 years.
