The Uruguayan midfielder returned to the pitch for the first time since last July

SESTO SAN GIOVANNI - A welcome return to the field for Matias Vecino. The Uruguayan midfielder was in the Inter Primavera starting line-up for today’s 3-1 victory against Genoa, as part of the fourth matchday of the championship. Vecino found the goal after just seven minutes, with a diagonal shot after a cross. He remained on the pitch for 69 minutes before being replaced by Lindkvist.

Vecino had not played an official match since July 9 last year, a 2-2 draw between Verona and Inter in Serie A. On July 21, 2020, the number eight underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee for meniscal pain.
