Di Stefano's late winner gifted the home side the win on Sunday

FLORENCE - Inter lost 2-1 during their matchday eight fixture against Fiorentina in Primavera 1 TIM on Sunday. Fonesca initially opened the scoring in the 64th minute; however, the hosts turned things around thanks to goals from Munteanu and Di Stefano. A superb display from Filip Stankovic wasn’t enough for the hosts, who made a number of decisive saves during the match and also kept out a penalty.

The first half started with Alberto Aquilani’s Fiorentina side controlling the majority of possession, while the Nerazzurri were forced onto the back foot with Stankovic making a couple of key saves. However, Armando Madonna’s side soon grew into the game and made forays down the flanks and up front, yet without really threatening,

There was little change to the game’s rhythm after half-time, yet Inter did manage to make the breakthrough in the 64th minute through Fonesca. However, it was just three minutes later that Munteanu equalised for Fiorentina. It was then Stankovic who thought he’d saved the day in the 87th minute as he kept out a spot-kick from Munteanu; however, a 93rd-minute strike from Di Stefano secured the win for hosts.
