The Nerazzurri were defeated in the first U19 league matchday since the break

BOGLIASCO – The good run of positive league results finished at nine games for the Nerazzurri, beaten 2-1 by Sampdoria on matchday 16 in the Primavera 1 TIM division. Bonfanti’s goal wasn’t enough for Armando Madonna’s side.

Inter started off at a very high tempo and created two great chances in the first 15 minutes: first, Akhalaia was denied by a save from Zovko (Satriano failed to convert the rebound) and then Casadei failed to hit the target with a header. Sampdoria grew into the game as it went on, but both sides didn't look particularly dangerous going forward. The first half finished with the score at 0-0.

Unlike the opening period, Inter started off timidly and were punished immediately by Sampdoria: Di Stefano escaped down the right flank and put the ball into the middle for Brentan, who controlled it and finished with his left. A few minutes later, the hosts made it 2-0, with Trimboli converting a penalty won by Sottini. In the 77th minute, the referee blew for another spot-kick, this time for Inter: Bonfanti found the net to reduce Sampdoria’s lead. In the final few minutes, Inter went for an equaliser but to no avail, failing to break through Sampdoria’s solid defence: it ended 2-1 to the hosts at the Garrone stadium.
