The Nerazzurri defender shared his thoughts after the 2-1 win over Sassuolo

MILAN - Deployed in a three-man defence, in the role usually occupied by Alessandro Bastoni, Matteo Darmian put in the usual solid and brilliant performance: impeccable in the defensive phase, and even proving dangerous in the rare venture forward. An excellent performance which helped the team to win their tenth match in a row.

After the match, Darmian spoke to Inter TV: "I played in a role that I’ve already covered with the Coach of the national team, so I knew what was expected of me. I always try to make myself available, and I give my all. Yes, it was a painful victory but an important one”.

“We defended well; we didn’t let them create many goal chances. We know that Sassuolo like to commit men forward and that they leave space in behind to attack. We did well to unlock the match and then again to double the lead”.

“We are aware of our own strength: winning ten games in a row helps, but we have to keep our feet on the ground, remain concentrated, and stay determined to continue winning”.
