Martin Satriano's brace secures the win for Madonna's boys

MILAN - Armando Madonna’s U19s triumphed 2-0 over Cagliari in what was a solid team performance. Martin Satriano put on a splendid individual display, scoring both of the Inter goals. Today’s takes Inter within one point of the leaders, with Sampdoria and Roma yet to play this weekend.

An entertaining first half unfolded at Interello with both sides looking to get on the front foot. Satriano and Del Pupo both got shots away in the opening stages, but both were unsuccessful in their effort. Midway through the first half, Kinkoue and Casadei (crossbar) both put Ciocci under pressure. This was the prelude to Satriano’s eventual opener (28’). The Cagliari goalkeeper parried Oristanio’s effort but the Inter number 9 was on hand to tap home the rebound. Ten minutes later, the guests missed an opportunity to bring themselves level but Stankovic did well to make the save.

Stankovic was called into action immediately after the break, making a brilliant save to deny Luvumbo. Inter doubled their lead in the 58th minute as Satriano latched onto a pass from Sangalli to make it 2-0. Moretti was close to making it three for Inter but Ciocci scrambled to save his headed effort. Madonna’s side controlled the tempo of the game in the final minutes and saw out a result that gives them three very important points. It ended 2-0 at the Suning Training Centre.
