Goals from Bonfanti and Casadei are followed by an Italeng brace. A golden draw for the Nerazzurri, who have gained direct access to the final four

ZINGONIA – The Nerazzurri secured a golden draw in Zingonia today, a result which saw them qualify for the Primavera 1 TIM playoff semi-finals thanks to their second-place finish. The match against Atalanta finished 2-2, with Bonfanti and Casadei getting on the scoresheet for Inter and the hosts then responding through an Italeng brace. The Nerazzurri’s opponents in the last four will be the winners of Juventus vs. Empoli. Sampdoria, who finished top, are also in the semis, while Atalanta and Roma are the other teams in the playoffs.

Madonna’s men started well in Zingonia, displaying strength and character. In the eleventh minute, Satriano charged forward down the left flank and crossed the ball in for Bonfanti, who gave the Nerazzurri the lead. Ten minutes later, Inter scored again, with Casadei getting on the end of another Satriano ball into the box and making it 2-0. However, Atalanta were able to respond and reduced the arrears after 36 minutes, when Italeng headed home Renault’s assist. There were no clear-cut chances for the rest of the half and Inter went into the break with a one-goal advantage.

It was a bit of a disjointed affair after the restart, with Atalanta looking to put together attacking moves and Inter defending solidly. With 74 minutes on the clock, Bonfanti had a go from distance, but his effort came off the bar. A few seconds later, the home side came close with a header that finished wide of Stankovic’s right post.

With three minutes to go, La Dea drew level: Italeng made the most of a mistake by Moretti at the back to equalise. Then, Lindkvist had a golden opportunity to win it for the Nerazzurri, but he shot wide from twelve yards out. However, a point was enough for Inter to gain direct access to the semi-finals.
