The Azzurri beat Wales 1-0 to top Group A and qualify with maximum points

ROME – Italy can enjoy another evening of celebrations at Euro 2020. The Azzurri end the group with a full haul of nine points, with seven goals scored (they have never done better in the three matches of the group stage between European Championships and World Cups - seven goals also in 1998) and zero conceded. The 1-0 win against Wales, which was decided by Pessina's goal, allowed Mancini's men, who had already qualified for the round of 16 with a game to spare, to go through in first place in Group A.

Alessandro Bastoni started the match and played all 90 minutes on his debut in the European Championship, while Nicolò Barella was rested.
