The World Cup runners-up beaten by Spain in an extra-time thriller

Brozovic and Perisic have come to the end of their road at Euro 2020. Zlatko Dalic's side were beaten 5-3 by Spain in Copenhagen in the Round of 16. 3-3 after the 90 minutes, the Spanish then kicked up a gear in extra time.

Marcelo Brozovic started and went all the way through the 120 minutes, while Perisic was unavailable. Croatia took the lead through a Pedri own goal before Spain took the lead through goals from Sarabia and Azpilicueta. Orsic and Pasalic leveled it for the Croats before full time, before Morata and Oyarzabal scored Spain's fourth and fifth in the first half of extra time. Spain will take on Switzerland on Friday 2 July at 18:00 CEST in the quarter-final.
