Copa America: Sanchez and Vidal bow out as Chile eliminated

Chile were beaten 1-0 by Brazil in the quarter-final


Chile’s run in the 2021 Copa America has come to an end in the quarter-final, after they were eliminated by Brazil at the Estadio Olimpico Nilton Santos in Rio de Janeiro. Lucas Paquetá’s goal after 46 minutes decided the contest.

Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal were both in the starting line-up for Chile. The former was taken off at the end of the first half while the latter played the full 90 minutes.

Brazil will face Peru in the semi-final on 6 July.
