Happy birthday, Giacinto Facchetti

MILAN – Giacinto Facchetti would have turned 79 today.

The legendary Inter left-back was synonymous with humility, hard work and passion – an icon on and off the pitch whose memory lives on in the hearts of all Nerazzurri fans.

It was impossible not to think of Facchetti when Handanovic raised the Scudetto trophy to the sky to celebrate our 19th title win in May – and again when Italy became European Champions for the second time just one week ago.

A symbol of Inter and of the national team, Facchetti still represents an important part of our club – as he has done since the first time he pulled on the black and blue, back in 1961.
