Happy birthday, Javier Zanetti!

MILAN – Club legend Javier Zanetti, who was born in Buenos Aires on 10 August 1973, is celebrating his 48th birthday today.

From joining Inter in the summer of 1995 to his current role as vice president, the Nerazzurri have been a focal point in the Argentine’s career.

During a glittering playing career, Zanetti won over team-mates, opponents and fans alike, and was the first defender to be inducted into the Inter Hall of Fame. The full-back made an astonishing 858 appearances for the club, racking up 73,284 minutes on the pitch and won 16 trophies: one Champions League, one Club World Cup, one UEFA Cup, five Scudetti, four Coppe Italia and four Italian Super Cups, which were joined by the club’s 19th Scudetto success earlier this year with Zanetti as vice president.
