Dream Debuts | From Correa to Recoba, Ventola and the rest
First Team
— Sep 4th 2021Joaquin Correa announced himself to Nerazzurri fans with a scintillating brace
MILAN – Making your debut for Inter is a proud moment – an honour. But stealing the show on your first game for your new club, scoring two goals in an epic turnaround... now that's the stuff of history.
That’s what Joaquin Correa achieved on Friday 27 August, coming off the bench to put Inter in front in Verona with an imperious header before finishing the job with a lashed left-footed finish.
Correa’s debut exploits evoked memories of previous notable performances by players on their maiden Inter appearances. The feeling of scoring a brace on your Inter debut is one Correa now shares with the likes of Alvaro Recoba, Nicola Ventola, Mohamed Kallon and Giampaolo Pazzini – not forgetting Christian Vieri, who bagged a hat-trick on his first appearance for the Nerazzurri, against Verona.
