That’s what Joaquin Correa achieved on Friday 27 August, coming off the bench to put Inter in front in Verona with an imperious header before finishing the job with a lashed left-footed finish.

Correa’s debut exploits evoked memories of previous notable performances by players on their maiden Inter appearances. The feeling of scoring a brace on your Inter debut is one Correa now shares with the likes of Alvaro Recoba, Nicola Ventola, Mohamed Kallon and Giampaolo Pazzini – not forgetting Christian Vieri, who bagged a hat-trick on his first appearance for the Nerazzurri, against Verona.
