Correa: “Everyone’s made me feel at home”

APPIANO GENTILE – It’s not even been a month since Joaquin Correa made his debut in the Nerazzurri colours, when he got off the mark in impressive fashion with two goals against Verona.

The Argentine, who has made three appearances so far for Inter, spoke to DAZN about how things are going so far at his new club: "I've thought about this team since I was a child. When I moved up to the first team in Argentina and Inter showed an interest in me, I was hoping the move would happen. Now I'm finally here and it means a lot. Getting those two goals on my debut against Verona was great.

"Here at Inter I’m working with [Simone] Inzaghi again. I had already dreamt of wearing the Nerazzurri colours, and then after getting the call from him, I didn't want to be anywhere else but at Inter. There were no doubts about that. From the first day I arrived everyone made me feel at home. I got a real sense of what Inter is about and what our duties are. We have to honour a significant jersey, which comes with heavy responsibility and I'm happy about that.”

"Our team is full of top players and it’s a joy to play with them – having such quality team-mates is fun, because they keep serving up great balls. We want to try and give as much joy as possible to the fans.”

Correa also spoke about Juan Sebastian Veron, who has been a key figure in his career: "He helped me a lot – he was a reference point for me at Estudiantes. He taught me a lot – there I grew as a person and as a player."

Finally, he commented on his celebration at Verona: "A friend of mine who I played five-a-side with invented it. In Argentina there were people who said that those who moved to Europe didn't have 'blood' – we’ve kept it going, to show we do have it."
