The Dutchman played a starring role in Inter’s 6-1 thumping of Bologna

MILAN – In his first start for the club, Denzel Dumfries lit up San Siro as he tore down the right wing time after time, providing assist after assist as the goals flowed. Lautaro’s opener came from a Dumfries set-up, with a whole host of chances to follow. The San Siro faithful showed their appreciation to the winger on a day when the Nerazzurri ran out comfortable 6-1 winners over Bologna.

Dumfries spoke to DAZN after the game to describe his emotions: “I’m so happy. We played brilliantly and it was important after the defeat by Real Madrid. We reacted as a team and turned in a top performance.

“I feel good. Inzaghi has asked to play high up the pitch and attack as much as possible. My team-mates have helped me out and welcomed me to the club. I’m thrilled and proud to be here. I’m at a fantastic club with exceptional fans. I’m learning Italian. I’m studying and it’s getting better every day.”
