“We defended well,” says Man of the Match Milan Skriniar

KYIV - It was inevitable that Milan Skriniar would be named Man of the Match for Shakhtar Donetsk v Inter following another great outing in the Nerazzurri shirt.

He excelled against Real Madrid, blocking everything that came his way, and continued in Kyiv with a sumptuous performance featuring a series of crucial well-timed tackles - most notably his block early in the second half.

However, the Slovakian defender was not content with the result, having this to says to Inter TV and Sky Sport afterwards: "There’s a bit of disappointment because we wanted to win, we wanted those three points and we came close. 

“We congratulate our opponents, they were tough, passed the ball well and played good football. But we did well defensively. We all worked hard together with great spirit. 

“We could perhaps have done something more at the other end of the pitch but we have to think positively. We still have a long way to go. It was certainly good not to lose and not to concede. We'll build on this. We have a winning mentality: we always want to aim for victory."
