Inter's comeback victory over Sassuolo was a fine one. Simone Inzaghi's team turned the match around in the second half thanks in part to substitutions, with four changes made simultaneously in the 57th minute, just before Edin Dzeko made it 1-1. Lautaro then sealed the win from the penalty spot. On Twitter, Nerazzurri fans can vote for the best player on the pitch at the Mapei Stadium. There are four candidates, among the many stars of the game.

  • Samir Handanovic | Practically unbeatable. The only thing he failed to stop was Berardi's penalty. Made super saves to deny Defrel, Rogerio and, above all, Boga. Crucial to keeping Inter in the game at the start of the second half.

  • Ivan Perisic | Tireless. Lots of running and sprinting, and not just forward. Always willing on the break, he provided a beautiful assist for Dzeko to equalise.

  • Lautaro Martinez | Composed from the penalty spot, he struck into the same goal where he scored from 12 yards in October 2019, again against Consigli. It was the same corner and the same result, with the goalkeeper sent the wrong way.

  • Edin Dzeko | Entered the fray and turned the match around in a dominant display. Scored a header after 33 seconds and won the penalty, before having another goal disallowed for offside. Also came close to making it 3-1 with a beautiful shot. Indomitable.
