MILAN – There are teams and achievements that stand the test of time and footballers that will never be forgotten by fans – and Andreas Brehme is one of these.
He joined Inter in 1988, together with Bayern Munich and Germany team-mate Lothar Matthaus, and went on to wear the Nerazzurri shirt for four seasons.
“I spent four years at Inter but the club has a special place in my heart,” he said.
The World Cup-winning Germany defender racked up 154 appearances for Inter, with 12 goals and three trophies: a Scudetto, a UEFA Cup and an Italian Super Cup. With his goals and overall contribution, he was a key member of the record-breaking Nerazzurri side of 1988/89.
