La Roja beat Paraguay with Vidal also involved

Chile secured a crucial qualifying win away to Paraguay in Asuncion on Thursday night which allowed Martin Lasarte’s side to move up to fourth in the group after a third victory on the bounce and leapfrog Colombia, who are now winless in four games after losing by the odd goal to Brazil.

Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal played a key role in Chile’s triumph. The forward played the entirety of the contest and took the corner which resulted in the only goal of the game when the Paraguay goalkeeper turned the ball into his own net. Vidal went close to scoring on two occasions before eventually being substituted in the 84th minute.
