MONTEVIDEO - Argentina secured a crucial victory over Uruguay in Montevideo as they sought to seal qualification for the 2022 Qatar World Cup. They overcame the hosts 1-0 thanks to a goal in the seventh minute scored by Angel Di Maria.

Three Inter players took to the field in the match: Lautaro Martinez was in his side's starting line-up, as was Matias Vecino, while Joaquin Correa came on in the second half.

Lautaro started up front for Argentina attack but was taken off after 55 minutes, replaced by Papu Gomez. Fellow Inter forward Joaquin Correa came on for Paulo Dybala in the second half.

Meanwhile Vecino was chosen by Oscar Tabarez to lead his country's midfield, and nearly got on the scoresheet. He was replaced by Agustin Alvarez in the 64th minute as Uruguay chased the game.
